Le nom est surtout porté dans le Loiret, il était autrefois très présent dans le Cher. Variante : Agoguet (18, 03, 45). Il fait partie des noms de famille formés en Berry avec la préposition "à" marquant la filiation. C'est donc le fils de celui qui s'appelle Goguet, Gogué (voir Goguet).
